A fantasic Carnival of Family Life

by christina on October 23rd, 2006

Carnival of Family Life
This week’s Carnival has something for everyone, so I think I’m going to toddle on off with a cuppa tea and catch up on how the other half lives. ;-) You know, the folks with other halves! I especially empathise with Kate’s post over at Babylune regarding finding adequate childcare while she works. It’s such a difficult thing to do, leave them with Other People. So she’s doing the best thing: flying in family!

Moving closer to family who can help love and raise my child was one of the biggest factors in returning to DC. The King of Everything gets his grammie and grampa time. I keep my sanity levels high and the guilt at a minimum. Cause when he’s with them, it’s, Mama? What mama?’

And yet somehow, I’m ok with that.

Know how I solved that one? I do childcare in my home. Pays the bills, and I know who my kids are with. Me! It can get tricky, since I rent, but it was worth it to be with them.

that’s a wonderful thing, Dorene. A friend of mine is thinking of pulling her daughter out of school, and has offered to take my son for a pittance. I’m thinking about it, but I have to think of what i can do for her…
