Big Boned Heather Wells: a heroine for the rest of us
Hot on the heels of her first two murder mysteries (Size 12 is Not Fat and Size 14 is Not Fat Either), amateur sleuth and calories be damned Heather Wells is at it again. Big Boned by Meg Cabot promises to be hilarious, intriguing, and all-out fun. I can’t wait to read it!
In an era where the headlines scream dozens of contradictory messages about health and weight, I enjoy the idea of a novel character who struggles with the same things so many of us do, including how to put down the pint of Ben and Jerry’s and back away from the freezer door. Slowly.
I mean, come on… a recent search on Washingtonpost.com dug up this smattering of confusion:
Being Overweight Isn’t All Bad, Study Says
Extra Weight Said Won’t Raise Death Risk
Excessive Pounds Raise Women’s Cancer Risk
Obesity Leaves More Americans With Physical Limitations
Looks like we could all use some big bones right about now. Stay tuned to SoloMother, because I get to read this book… and I get to give a copy away!!
