But then again, my separation could be worse…
Google kindly fills my single mother inbox with doozies about separation, divorce, and custody on a regular basis. Tonight, it shared this little gem with me: A Nasty Divorce Battle and A Nosy Husband Lead to Bomb Scare… I thought I’d pass it on to you:
A small black object that was found attached to the bottom of a woman’s Jeep and prompted an evacuation of a three-square block area on Friday wasn’t a bomb after all. It was a tracking device planted by the woman’s husband.
I can’t even imagine it. If my ex ever did something like that to me, I’d be apoplectic.
Sometimes it’s nice to have several large bodies of water between us. I’m sure he agrees.
Anyone out there want to share horror stories? Or are you all going through the process right now and don’t want to divulge? Have you ever done something like that to your ex?
I remember one night, I’d finally had it. My brain was doing its gerbil in a wheel trick, and I finally asked him if he was having an affair. He said no, and I was heartbroken… because either he was having an affair, or he hated my guts. Those were my top two reasons for the way he was treating me, and since he denied it was Reason Number One, I had to face up to the fact that it was probably Reason Number Two. So, a note to anyone out there who have not yet split up: if your spouse asks you if you’re cheating… don’t just deny it and then roll over and go back to sleep, or reading your book, or watching TV. Take it as a big red flag that something is seriously wrong in your marriage, and do something about it. I’d recommend taking the questioner into your arms and delivering some very kind, reassuring message along with your denial — unless you’re lying through your teeth. In that case, I’m afraid you’re on your own.
