A big THANK YOU to Parents for Ethical Marketing, the Corporate Babysitter, for writing about this one. With all the scares recently about poisonous toys, it’s hard to know what holiday presents to wrap up in pretty paper, and what toys get wrapped up in trash bags.
Never fear, for HealthyToys.org is here! Forty percent […]

The wind is whipping around outside so hard I’m afraid of the windows in my son’s room. In the interest of paranoia, I might move him into my room for the night. The panes of glass are old, and rattling like crazy in their none-too-insulated sills.
I went to take a shower in the mostly finished […]

I can’t believe I did it. National Blog Posting Month is done as of midnight tonight, and I did indeed fulfill my commitment to post every day. The end of the month makes me think of the beginning of the month, which in turn makes me think of payments.

Ahem.
Kate over at Babylune is participating in Bravo’s Project Blog and she could use a final push to keep in front of Winnie, who blogs about the View. By all means, check out each of this week’s contestants, but I think you’ll find that Kate’s entry wins, hands down.

Mom Gadget is teaming up with Kodak to give away a Kodak EasyShare 5300 All-In-One-Printer to the best holiday shopping horror story. Make it funny, make it unique, and try to top her story of her search for the perfect Cabbage Patch Kid when she was eleven… a 60 year old woman gave her a […]

An article came out over the AP wire yesterday that has me sad and worried. Abuse Risk Seen Worse as Families Change, the article declares. ABC News has picked up the story, with a dramatic photo of a young, tatooed mother mourning at her small son’s grave.

Recently, I posted about an alternative to acohol-based hand sanitizers, citing growing concern that a small amount of this stuff, when ingested by curious toddlers, can cause intoxication if not outright alcohol poisoning. I was thrilled to find MomSpit, a hand cleanser free of alcohol, and while it’s not entirely ‘green’ and I’m sure my […]
