Dear single moms: don’t do it alone
Golly, but I feel so much better.
I got together with the most amazing, stunning, smart, funny, beautiful, competent group of single moms this evening. Some of us were old hands at this single thing, some were just dealing with the first steps of single motherhood. Some had found their way through adoption, some through divorce, some through passionate affairs. We shared our stories, we laughed, we sympathized, we even had a little bit of good advice for them what wanted it.
Ladies, if you haven’t found a tribe, in this day and age, there’s no excuse. Find a family group in your neighborhood, Do some googling and see if you can’t find a single parents group in your neck of the woods.
We’re all excited to see each other once the holidays are over… I might not wait that long. I might just invite everyone over to my teeny tiny house NEXT Saturday. Heaven knows the KoE will have new toys to share with everyone… I just worry about all his toy knights and the itty bitty parts the babies won’t be able to resist. We’ll figure it out.
What I always forget is how much easier it is to have friends. The King of Everything needs to remind his mama to be more like he is, sometimes, and seek out the company of others.

That’s really great you’ve found a group of friends to share singledom with.
I had a very good friend that I used to hang tight with during and following divorce. It was nice to have someone who just knew what it was like even if the subject wasn’t actually discussed.
