Solo Mother

I don’t get to go to the black tie affair next week. Ah, well, such is life. I didn’t get my butt into the gym but once, so I’m not sure I ‘deserve’ to get all swanked up. It was a nice cattle prod though… I did get out and have a date or two, and it was nice to remember that I’m not just a mother or an employee. I think that’s an important reason to date.

Sanity. Grown up time. Adult conversation.

Something in my in box piqued my interest: Glamour Magazine is replacing Jake, their columnist on all things male. One of the guys in the running for the spot is a single dad. And if you vote, you are entered to win diamonds.

What I want to know is, are diamonds really a girl’s best friend? Or would you rather hang out with a guy who can cook and sing love songs at the same time?

    Boy, do great minds think alike!… I rarely read Glamour online, but that single dad caught my eye.

    I tried to vote, but the system was down. Still, I wrote a comment to him saying that I was going to vote for him because it would be great to have a single dad out there telling the world what it’s like to dad… although I had a problem with the fact that he seems to have committment issues [did you read what he wrote about being monogamous?… Honest, but yikes.]

    Phooey, I think you’re right, I would rather find a sweetness in the ritual of everyday life… diamonds aren’t very cuddly, are they?
