Solo Mother

Mile High City

by christina on August 24th, 2008

I’ve never been to Denver before. It might be a mile high, but it’s also miles and miles wide… There are no edges to look over. The local volunteers who have been pulling everything together for my job’s event at the DNC are amazing. One of them is also a solomother: her son is 16. She picked me up from the airport and we slid into a comfortable conversation as only women with a common history can.

The King of Everything is still mad at me, and is taking it out on everyone. I feel bad. But I’m so far away… All I can do is call him and tell him I love him.

And scoring him some Obama swag won’t hurt, either.
