Proof positive: single mothers raise amazing kids
He’s a hotshot. A sizzler. Smokin. He’s a house on fire in a swimming pool and that’s no mean feat.
Michael Phelps. A swimmer on a mission to win the gold. All of it, it seems. When the Olympics start up, he’s the one I’ll be rooting for.
And we have his mom to thank for it. A single mother, nonetheless she found a way to support her son’s passions, and get him off Ritalin in the bargain. Who says children in single parent homes don’t thrive?
There’s a great article about Olympic great-to-be Michael Phelps in USA Today (”Built to swim, Phelps found a focus and refuge in water” by Vicki Michaelis). Just reading about the amazing, unique configuration of his physique had me amazed.
