So, what’s in store for 2007?
Well, a handsome (and available) single dad is going to take a shot at talking about Life After Divorce, Making Friends with the Ex, and Dating.
I’m going to sit down with a friend who is a trained social worker and figure out how to get at least my son on some kind of health insurance, etc. We’ll try to figure out what kind of aid the King of Everything and I might qualify for. You never know.
I suppose the ex and I will have to bite the bullet and discuss The Divorce, even though neither of us has a dime for that sort of thing right now.
Did I mention, I am still looking for a job? I’m hoping my temp agencies pull through for me and start giving me much-needed work while I fill out applications for permanent positions and network like mad.
Going to figure out what to do about SUMMER VACATION… and Spring break, too. *Shudder* I miss being a full-time mother. Oh well. Water under the bridge and all that.
More adventures in navigating dreams. futures, education, stability, and growth. I promise, I’ll share them with you. If you want a fun, frank peek into a single mother’s dating foibles, I suggest you check out Emily over at Redbook’s Hot and Bothered…

Angel, the job search has me by the short hairs right now. I’m getting frustrated. Going to have to regroup and hit the pavements again!

Christina: Is there anything particular that you’re good at or would like to do as a profession?

Karen, my background is Mar/Com (Marketing/Communications), both on the traditional end of things writing copy for print, DVD and radio ads, as well as new media. I’ve spent a good deal of time designing web architecture, Web planning and strategy, online communications and marketing, and writing copy for corporate websites. I’ve worked for PR agencies, image consultancies, done PR for profit and for non-profit. I’m itching to get my shoes into a director of online communications spot somewhere here in DC, and am looking for an avenue to that goal.
Since I can’t see how I’d make enough money to keep my son and me afloat as a professional potter at this point in my life. Which isn’t to say I’m not looking into grants to do just that ;-) cause you know, everyone needs a hand-thrown sink in their bathroom. I’m just sayin.
