Tuesday was my birthday.
It began with an inch of water settling on the floor of my dining room, soaking my rug, ruining my floor. As a matter of fact, my floor is now a champion Hot Wheels track, with death-defying hills and fissures and such that walking on it is a true adventure. 
Then my boss made me cry. As my intern put it to a co-worker, “I don’t get it, I come in and five minutes later…?” and my co-worker smiled and said, “Ah, but she gets here a half hour early…” What a difference 35 mintues makes.

I have absolutely no idea what to say.
My kid is five. My amazing, funny, high maintenance, gobsmacking, utterly hysterical, kind, sweet, thoughtful little guy is a whole hand old, and I’m in awe of him. He’s come so far in such a short time, dealing with utter equanimity the bizzare turns this past week has thrown at him, from the announcement that we’re moving to spring break at the amazing Camp Grammie’s to his father suddenly showing up rather unexpectedly for his birthday. it was a lovely day. I really do enjoy wandering the market. it’s such a hep part of town. I love watching people at the hip coffee shop, wandering the craft vendors, saying hello to crazy Viktor and all the others I know from days gone by. The King of Everything will be four tomorrow

I’m in tears tonight because there’s just not enough time. I’ve already worked almost 30 hours this week and it’s only Tuesday.
