Three kids, two adults, one car and over five hundred miles in one day is a very, very long drive
It’s absolutely possible to have fun for a week of rain in a rented house with three, sometimes five kids and three toddlers
My son is a very good boy and deserves praise, not punishment (see numbers 1 and 10)

Camp Weary Parent has been in full swing all summer, but the fearless leaders over at Weary Parent are marching gamely on. Charlene is playing her own game of Survivor and counting down to school (38 days!), while Christine is wondering when her teens decided she was uncool…

The ex paid a little of what he owes the King of Everything, which means he’s only four months behind, now.
Boggles the mind, doesn’t it?
With the economy, gas prices, and work demands as high as they are this year, the KoE and I are not going to be going to Disney World OR Disney Land this year. We’re being resourceful, though, and if we can’t do something fancy, we’re going to still make sure we can do something fun. My son is bleary eyed and amazingly exhausted by six at night, but so jazzed about the magic of his day he still can’t get to sleep before eight. His skin glows with the heat of the day and he turns nut brown in seconds, no matter how much sun screen we apply.
He’s at Camp Grammy this week, and they have already had more adventures that sane travelers would do. Water parks and discovery play zones and it’s only Tuesday. Tomorrow I’ve taken a vacation day and will join them for a more sedate outing, to a lake in …read more
