What’s it like out there?

by christina on March 10th, 2008

I’m reeling from the time change. Why, oh WHY do we have to do this? The Kid of course woke up in the middle of the night with some sort of leg spasm brought on, no doubt, from pounding around like a nut on the concrete sidewalks last night on our way home. He’s such a boy.

We began a game on the bus last week when I looked up and noticed the maple trees flinging a nimbus of scarlet into the air. I pointed it out to the Kid, and we played a merry game of Spot Spring (my apologies to those of you on the other side up half of the world, you’re moving into fall, and we’re moving into glorious SPRING!). We howled in glee with every prim little dogwood, every blushing cherry tree, every flush and fan and spring fandango!!!

I hope you take some time to really savor this time, as we turn from winter into the hopeful breezes of spring. Shed our heavy coats and put on some optimism. Life is going to be good. It’s the only one we’ve got.

Unfortunately, here in Florida we don’t really have seasons. The leaves change colors and fall if and when they feel like it. At least we have the warm weather to make up for it! Where else can you wear shorts in December? Woo.

In Canada, we were used to changing the time at the end of April only. Thanks to our neighbour, the US of A, we decided to do it at the same time this year! Nobody likes it but do we have a choice? It seems like Saskatchewan is the only province who decided to go against it. I am thinking about moving there :)

Mrs. Pillsbury, MOVE. This time change has made life so… difficult for us this week. I know we’ll get used to it but oh… we are so TIRED!

I share the pain! If Saskatchewan was closer and not as cold and snowy and here I would!
Maybe I should just move to the States since we are copying you :) With my degrees I might get a nice job and get to practice my English (read polish it) even more!
